3x Form & Report Generation

3x form generation for report filing, a full 3x summary page, and .CSV export for Schedule A and Schedule B of the 3x. Beta version of .FEC exporting for Schedule A and Schedule B.

The release also includes upgrades to existing features:

  • Filtering and managing by batch on the Manage Transactions page,
  • Grouping of conduit disbursement fees,
  • Additional validation for cash transactions with monetary thresholds that trigger error review, and
  • Fixes for small bugs identified from the last release.

HOW TO:

  1. 3X Form Generation for Reports
  • Click Report Manager tab on the left side menu from your Home page.

 Click Report Manager

The Report Manager view shows all reports you’ve created for this organization. Because the the software does not yet directly file to the FEC, you’ll want to mark the Status as “Filed” here in the Report Manager after you’ve downloaded a report and filed it directly with the FEC.

The Report Manager view shows

  • Click “View” below the Generate new report button to adjust the columns you see on Report Manager.

Click View below

  • Click on the “Generate new report” button to begin the report you need. Click “Create your first report” if this is the first one. This takes you to the Report Types page. As we add new types of reports, they will all live here. For now, you’re generating Form 3X.

Click on the Generate New Report

  • Configure Form 3X Report.

In the Configure Form 3X Report view, the Coverage Start Date and Coverage End Date are based on the selected Report Period.

The “Order By” dropdown menu circled below in red is a feature that’s not quite ready yet - coming soon. Enter the Cash on Hand as of [DATE], shown in the purple circle.

The Order By Dropdown Menu

If you have outstanding errors preventing filing, they’ll be flagged here. The quantity of errors shown on the “Configure Form 3X Report” page applies to all of the transactions for this organization, not just this reporting period.

When you click “Fix Errors,” you’ll be able to filter by the reporting period dates to focus only on errors for this report. (You may not have any errors outstanding for prior periods, unlike our Demo data.)

If you want to get CSVs that will include these errors, proceed and click “Generate Report.” When you “Fix Errors”, you’ll leave the Report Manager and get redirected to Prepare to File to fix them.

  • Click the “Fix Errors” button, which takes you to the “Prepare to File” error review tool (also in your left side menu).
  • Then click on “Activity Range” in the “Filter by” list and select the Report date range.

Then click on Activity Range

Then click on Activity Range 2

  • Once the errors are filtered by your Report date range, you’ll see exactly what needs review for this report. Below in our Demo data, two records need review - not 19.

Once the errors are filtered by

After you’ve fixed the errors preventing filing, navigate back to Report Manager. Generate a new report again, and “Generate Report”.

You’ve reached Report Preview. Here you can scroll to preview the Form 3X data that will appear in your report.

Select from Download Options to get either a .CSV File or .FEC File.

  • Export your receipts and disbursements as CSV.
